Sooooooo, I have a doctors appointment June 3rd, to discuss my bloodwork... wherein my dr is going to tell me that my Testosterone is too high..
I know this because even though it is illegal here for a dr.'s office to contact a patient and give them lab feedback outside of an office visit.... they did. here is the message I got.
" Mr. Walker... this is so-and-so from Dr. Whatitswhosits office calling about your labs.... Your test levels are way too high."
That's it... no instructions, no please contact our office and reschedule your appointment, not even a mention of the appointment.
My question is: Who determines what the definition of "way too high" is, when "normal" male total testosterone levels are between 2400-12000pg/ml (the measurement used for free testosterone) and free testosterone levels should be between 24-244pg/ml.
What will I experience if my T is actually too high? I mean, it's not like I can get prostate cancer...not having one and all...
I am curious as to why the acceptable free testosterone level is so low... since the free testosterone is the substance that builds muscle... and acts to reduce certain risk factors...
What would be considered optimum when referencing hormone levels? Or is this entirely subjective and needs to be determined by "symptomology"?
My curiosity is more than just passing...
after having learned that the "recommended daily allowance" of vitamins and minerals is the absolute lowest allowed to be able to live free of symptoms of deficiency, it seems that we have made an industry of maintaining sub par health...not only from the business standpoint of foods, but also from the business standpoint of medical care, and I wonder if this too is part of that deficiency model.
Total Transition Training is about the newest leg of my journey in life. The transition from mediocrity to success is a dirty road, but it is filled with random and beautiful moments that make the dirty agony of digging the trenches worth it.... and it comes with a shower of blessings at the end of the day!

Day 2... not much to tell.....
Day two of my estrogen detox....
I am not even sure what I am supposed to be feeling or experiencing in the short term.
Had a good workout today though.

Adventures in Estrogen Detox
I have been thinking for a while about documenting my transition. The thing is, there are so many guys out there doing it, I felt like I would be duplicating their information and basically just clogging up the information superhighway. But there are aspects of transition that we rarely if ever document.
Things like the reduction of female levels of hormones in our bodies.
Of course, many of our doctors have told us that introducing Testosterone to our systems would shut down or greatly reduce the estrogen production in our bodies, and happy to finally be seeing facial hair and some muscle growth coupled with not being visited by Aunt Flo anymore, we gleefully listened and even signed off on having health risks associated with imbalanced sex hormones....
Few of us knew any different,,,
Few of our doctors actually know any different either...
Unless we were fortunate enough to hook up with either an Endo or a Sports Medicine Doctor.
I did ask my primary care physician about some type of anti-estrogen therapy, and was actually told that because I had already gone through puberty, there was nothing that it could do for me. (Intending to touch back on that one at my next appointment)
But in the meantime I did a bunch of research....
I am taking matters into my own hands... (I will be following up with my doctor on this though, I will be demanding Estradiol labs)
So, today begins DAY 1 of Adventures in Estrogen Detox!
Since I have not had E2 levels done yet, I will have to be reliant on how I feel, what I see, and my BMI info from my regular meetings with my personal trainer.
So for the BMI.........................
At my last weigh-in:
weight: 262.6lbs
% body fat: 42.5%
fat lbs: 111.6
lean lbs: 151.0
water: 110.2
I will be taking Pure Breast-D (yeah, I hate the name) combination of 100mg Calcium D-Glucarate, 150mg DIM ....it's got some other stuff in it, but those two are the reason I got it.
The bottle says 1-2 capsules a day............but that is to maintain the breast health of self-identified females... so I checked out the bodybuilding websites and saw that most men are taking 4-6 daily to maintain sufficiently low E2 levels....
I am going to start with 3 daily and adjust by feel I will also be testing other products to ensure that I have the correct supplemental support for my "unique" situation.
